The Wish I Would Have Known blog publishes advice for new law students—advice that the authors wish they would have known before starting law school. Although it hasn’t had new information in about a month, the advice there is useful:

The most recent article covers the following topics :

  • Why haven’t I gotten my financial aid information yet?
  • Should I get a co-signer?
  • What about GraduatePLUS loans?
  • Should I get insurance?
  • Should I try to get residency where I’m going to be attending school?

The article titled Intra-Section Dating: Can One Who Plays With Fire Not Get Burned? covers the following topics:

  1. Dating within your section can put your relationship into a Pressure Cooker.
  2. When you are fighting and go to class, likely Con Law will not be on your mind.
  3. Everyone will know about everything in your relationship (including things that you didn’t know about the relationship).
  4. The Break Up can be a bitch.
  5. Once you’ve peed in the pool, it’s hard to get permission to dive back in.

The article titled My reputation is your entertainment discusses how quickly law students’ reputations are impacted by their acts.

The article titled 10 Tips For First Year has some general advice for new law students.

Finally, the article titled Casebriefs, Outlines, Old Exams has links to case summaries, course outlines, and practice exams. (For similar resources, you can also see TopLawStudent’s Outlines page.)

The Wish I Would Have Known blog had a good start. Many blog authors lose interest after a short time—I hope this one continues.
